Another cold, foggy day on the coast! It's honestly not that bad, but towards the end of the day I usually have a strong craving for a fireplace, a cup of hot chocolate, a snuggy blanket, and a cat to sit in my lap. Either that or a glass of whiskey... that warms me up in a similar way!
Today when we were stopped on the side of the road looking at our map a group of bikers appeared out of nowhere and offered us direction! They took us on an awesome bike path away from the main road! We cycled with them for a good 10 miles or so and they were really nice! One of the bikers was the owner of a bagel shop in the next town and offered us a free meal!! He called ahead, gave us directions, and told us to have a great day!! We had technically already had lunch but we love second breakfast so we figured we would love second lunch too!
We did love second lunch! It was great! As we biked on we realized that we had to start thinking about dinner and what we were going to make. We soon realized that neither of us wanted to make dinner and we really just wanted to go to bed. We decided to eat out for dinner tonight at a pizza place. I think the waitress thought we were crazy because we ordered A LOT of food! One large pizza plus a sandwich for each of us. Needless to say we spent most of our days allowance on food today! Although in the afternoon when we stopped at a fruit stand the lady gave us some free strawberries too!
It actually occurred to us the other day how much weight we actually carry in food. At one of the campsites we were required to use the bear box and we were amazed by how much food we actually had!! I'm really going to miss eating like I'm a teenager when I get back home after this trip...
