Today was very foggy and wet! It was a very gloomy day to cycle and I apologize for all the pictures of the foggy coast. I really wanted to take a lot of pictures until I realized they all pretty much looked the same.
We figured out two more great things about the west coast today.
1) When you cross a bridge or go through a tunnel there are bike lights! Before the bridge or tunnel there is a button that bikers can push. Once you push it a sign over the road lights up and flashes that there is a cyclist on the bridge or in the tunnel! How awesome is that!!!
2) There is a lot of logging in Oregon (you can probably tell just from our pictures of the forest). Unfortunately this means that a lot of logging trucks pass us with huge pine trees! It's honestly not that bad though because for a good 10 seconds after they pass it smells like Christmas!!
We met a lot more bikers the past few days at our campsites and we have been cycling on and off with them! It's so much fun running into the same people all the time!!
Mary and Joe
PS Mom, I'm still alive.
PPS I hope everyone (in my family at least) is following Aunt Bernice and Becky in Greece on their sailing adventure! Check out their blog!
